Gena B. Burns
Gena provides advice and assistance to the firm’s clients regarding all aspects of labor and employment law, including equal employment opportunity laws, disability and family medical leave, wage and hour issues, sexual harassment, workplace violence, public employee benefits and retirement, employee discipline and disciplinary arbitrations, collective bargaining processes, and interpretation of labor contracts.
After graduating law school, Gena joined a private defense law firm in Irvine and began her practice in labor and employment. Gena has successfully handled cases before the Public Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board. She has represented clients in both state and federal court and has handled many arbitrations. Gena has experience counseling clients with respect to workplace and compliance issues including employee terminations, personnel investigations, reductions-in-force, handbooks, and the development of personnel policies and procedures.
Gena is admitted to all of the U.S. District Courts in California as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
