Randall R. Sjoblom is a Senior Associate at the Firm. He has been a Deputy City Attorney for the Cities of Coronado, Imperial Beach, and Solana Beach since 2010.

He advises multiple city commissions, including the Solana Beach View Assessment Commission, the Coronado Planning Commission, the Coronado Historic Resource Commission, and the Coronado Transportation Commission. He is General Counsel for the San Diego Regional Training Center, North County Dispatch JPA, and Julian-Cuyamaca Fire Protection District. He frequently assists and advises the Firm’s other municipal and special district clients as well.
He specializes in planning issues, parliamentary procedure, coastal issues, redevelopment and the dissolution of the former redevelopment agencies, code enforcement, and JPA governance. In addition, he advises city staff and council members on matters related to proposed state legislation, contracts, CEQA, assessment districts, First Amendment issues related to the freedom of speech and religion and the establishment clause, stormwater, and Public Records Act requests. He provides training in due process, ethics, personal conflicts, Form 700s, AB 1234, and harassment.
Randall has represented many of the firm’s municipal, business and individual clients’ interests through all stages of litigation from initial investigation work to trial. He continues to prosecute code enforcement and eminent domain cases, and defend the Firms’ city clients against writ of mandate petitions.
Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Randall practiced business litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in anti-trust, transactional disputes, securities fraud, and accounting fraud matters. After graduating from law school, he clerked for a federal magistrate judge for a year.
Randall is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California and all four United States District Courts in the State of California.
